Serge Meets Jordan

Serge Meets Jordan

Your style has changed so much in the last couple of years! How did you find your personal style?
I enjoy the whole process of what I do, I’ve always dabbled in vintage fashion but in the last year I've properly started thrifting, which is where I think my style evolved a lot. It has become a huge passion of mine. I love to visit different stores around the world, find unique pieces and put outfits together with my current wardrobe, mixing my vintage looks with pieces from designers today.

Describe yourself in three words?
Ambitious, happy, evolving

What short term goals do you have?
My goal right now is to build my knowledge and experience in textiles in fashion garments. As I have experimented with clothes from different eras, I’ve explored different cuts of fabrics. Now I’m at the point where I want to have greater knowledge in materials, fabrics, and even explore fashion outside of Europe.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Wait and see, but it’s coming!

One piece of clothing that you couldn’t live without?
Right now I have a 70’s snakeskin bag in red that I wear everyday, I picked it up from a vintage store in Miami!

What is your favourite Serge piece?
Pearls all day everyday.

Where is your favourite place in the world you have visited and why?
Morocco, Marrakech was beautiful!!

One place in London that you couldn’t recommend the food enough?
I went to the Rum kitchen for the first time recently wow fire

On our shoot you was talking about your ventures into property! How have you found the development journey and what advice would you give?
Yeah! I have just completed my first project and it was successful! Knowledge and extensive research on the area and the property is one of the most important tools, I’d say. Along with building a good team of builders, a trustworthy structural engineer, relationships with estate agents, and having strong budgeting skills. I look forward to starting my next project which is a 2-bed bungalow > 6 bedroom house conversion!

Where do you draw inspiration from for your style?
Literally everywhere, I love to walk around places and take in different cultures and ways of living, that inspires me. I’ve always had a strong sense of what’s aesthetic to me, I know what I like and when I see it, I’m sure of it and just rock it! I’m happy post everything I’m wearing even when I scroll through my feed it’s mad to see how it’s developing month to month!

How was Paris fashion week? Did you have any shows in particular that stood out and got your creative juices flowing?
The Givenchy show was a highlight for me. I actually had a moment after the show where I sat on my own outside my hotel and got emotional for about an hour haha. 5 years exploring fashion, being on shoots as a model, the hours in the office putting moodboards together, work behind the scenes when producing content for brands on campaigns, and constantly putting myself out there was all for that moment so felt really grateful and also excited for the future!

One piece of advice you would have given yourself five years ago looking back?
You gotta get it wrong to get it right!!
I always knew this subconsciously, but i became more aware of it in the past couple years. It’s cool to fail. Otherwise, how are you gonna learn?!
